The Green McDonough Band

Reviews

"Vocalist Laura Green and ace guitarist Rich McDonough were working in separate bands until they finally decided to form The Green McDonough Band at the beginning of 2016. The combination has definitely clicked. The new group toured Europe throughout April and May to major acclaim, and the debut recording showcases the exciting blend of Green’s powerhouse vocals and McDonough’s excellent six-string playing."

Wednesday was truly an awesome night of blues, opening act The Green McDonough Band, a St. Louis local group, put on a very impressive show. Made up of Laura Green (vocals) and Rich McDonough (guitar), they are a mix of dynamic vocals and truly excellent classic blues style guitar work. I will definitely be looking out for this group and trying to make it to some more of their shows, and if you love blues, you should too."

Bio

The Green McDonough Band combines the creative forces of electrifying blues guitarist Rich McDonough and the tough vocals of singer/songwriter Laura Green. A relatively new quartet on the St. Louis blues scene, The Green McDonough Band was formed in early 2016, and they have already released their first album. In April and May, 2016, they played a three week European tour.

Since their return, the band has played a variety of local venues and festivals, including the Big Muddy Blues Festival, the Brentwood Concert Series, the Lindenwood Concert Series, the Atomic Blues Festival, the St. Louis Art Fair, the Old Webster Jazz & Blues Festival and the Wildey Theater. The Green McDonough Band was recently nominated for Best Blues Band of 2016 by The Riverfront Times and is the 2016 winner of the St. Louis Blues Society’s Regional International Blues Challenge “Road to Memphis”. Their driving rhythm section backs this power duo, keeping the dance floor pumping with a steady groove. Their music is a mixed bag of blues styles and house rockin’ roots, reflected in both their original music and their fresh yet reverent takes on choice covers. The Green McDonough Band is currently working on their second album, to be released in 2017.
